The tide of change

Winter has turned the tide of change. For years austerity dragged it's feet and uncertainty had kept things under. But this Winter has seen at least six new Happy Couples tieing the Knot with a house finished or next floor furbished for the Bride and Groom. The Iron man and the Concrete lorry has been kept busy in and out and around the Village with an agenda to meet a deadline before the new season starts. The new chemist is under construction. Ikos formerly Club Med is keeping some of the apartments full out of season with the workers and its been a bonus to many.

Those of you who remember the Old Police station at the bottom of the Hill where the officers sat playing Backgammon and cards will be surprised to see the force of the law has returned, this time up in the Village in the old council offices often a site for Dance, Drama and Politics as the building had so many uses over the years.

The Bank shut its doors for the last time on Thursday. So it's a cashpoint job or a trip to Kos Town. Where will the Priest go now for a chat and chance to put his feet up? Michalis can enjoy retirement although rumour of plans are afoot with a variety of options, so who knows and Maria is now a commuter into the great Metropolis.

Life goes on and soon the Season will return
